I believe that the Sovereignty of America rests with, and in, the "People". The 50 States United are the foundation of the "America" created on July 4, 1776. I believe in strict adherence to the 10th Amendment to the Constitution which states: "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people." The 17th Amendment (removing the power of appointment of US Senators from the State Legislatures) was proposed in an effort to directly attack strong state sovereignty and that a real question exists as to whether it was properly ratified. This issue should be examined and if the 17th Amendment has not been ratified it needs to be declared void. If it has been ratified, it should be repealed.
